Summary

The General Accounting Manager plays a key role in the day-to-day management of the accounting functions of the company, including monthly reconciliation and closing of company’s financial records. The General Accounting Manager is directly reporting to the Controller & Chief Financial Officer for assisting in the effective control over all financial assets, liabilities, income and disbursements of the Company, and supervision of an appropriate accounting system to maintain proper controls. All S&S Activewear employees must adhere to the guidelines presented in the S&S Activewear Employee Handbook.

Schedule

Monday-Friday 8AM – 5PM, Full-Time, Exempt (Onsite, Bolingbrook, IL)

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare and examine accounting records.
• Develop and analyze reporting for business operations.
• Perform audits, ensuring adherence to standard requirements.
• Create new processes to improve financial efficiency.
• Report analysis and findings to management team.
• Assists Controller & Chief Financial Officer in the preparation of monthly journal entries.
• Manage journal entries, invoices, etc. and reconcile accounts for the monthly or annual closing.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
• Assists Controller & Chief Financial Officer with yearly financial audit.
• Assists Controller & Chief Financial Officer in ensuring that company’s expenses and general ledger entries are recorded correctly and in conjunction with the approved budget.
• Assists Controller & Chief Financial Officer with annual reporting of office activities and all other financial and management reports as required.
• Develop proficiency in A/R and A/P processes/procedures to be able to provide backup for these areas when needed.
• Participate in various business processes and technology integration initiatives.
• Coordinate/communicate with business executives regarding operational needs and accounting issues.
• Special projects as assigned by management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain organized, accurate and complete accounting records, electronically and hardcopies, as necessary.
• Identify areas for process improvement and streamlining.
• Research technical accounting matters.
• Document policies, procedures, and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility.

Required Education, Skills, Abilities and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• 5 years related accounting experience
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to read and speak English
• Extremely well organized with a passion for skill with attention to detail.
• Highly proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; to the point that you could teach others.
• Focused, disciplined and super organized with a high level of personal enthusiasm and self-motivation.
• Demonstrated success in working with/influencing and motivating your team and cross-functional teams as well as a developed mentoring skill set.
• Maintain momentum on our big picture goals and projects as well as jump into day-to-day tasks.
• Exhibit exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work effectively across all levels of an organization.
• Have high personal integrity and a strong work ethic.
