ART/STEM Teacher

Technology Integration Specialist

JOB SUMMARY: Provide leadership in developing, achieving, and maintaining high-quality technology integration into teaching and learning throughout all educational settings, support teachers in enhancing instruction to improve student learning and performance, and assist students in becoming 21st-century learners through the use of technology in the classroom. Provide classroom instruction to students in grades N-8 in ART and STEM.

Reports to:

Principal of St. Edward the Confessor School

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Master’s Degree Preferred

• New York State Teacher Certification – Fine Arts Prefered

• Experience demonstrating instructional technology integration in a classroom setting

• Leadership experience

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Model effective instructional strategies using technology.

• Teach engaging lessons following the New York State Standards for Fine Arts.

• Ability to teach hands-on experiential learning style and inspire students to reach for higher-level outcomes.

• Explore web-based or other instructional technology resources and provide professional development and parent training when necessary.

• Effectively use and provide support for current school technology: SmartBoards, iXL, i-Ready, iPads, Chromebooks, Rosetta Stone, Online Textbook Access, Google Classroom, PowerSchool, GoGuardian, and other software used in the classroom.

• Use data to design technology-based instructional strategies.

• Assess levels of teacher technology understanding, skills, and integration within the classroom.

• Research use of newer technologies in instruction.

• Provide classroom support to teachers on an ongoing basis and assist teachers in selecting technology that best fits New York State Standards.

• Collaborate with classroom teachers to provide instruction of new technology and/or programs in the classrooms.

• Coordinate with school staff and administrators to oversee school social media accounts.

• Oversee New York State software and hardware grants.

• Coordinate technology issues that need to be addressed with IT Company and on-call tech support.

• Serve as webmaster.

• Other assignments as assigned by the principal of St. Edward the Confessor School.

This position is Full-time.

Salary

Salary is based upon the Diocese of Rockville Center teacher salary scale for the 2021-2022 school year.
