CPA – Staff Accountant
Stone, Avant & Daniels, P.C. is a Homewood, AL based CPA firm with business clients located throughout Alabama. We are seeking a motivated CPA, CPA candidate or degreed accountant with prior public accounting experience who desires to work in a public accounting environment without departmentalization.

Responsibilities of the position include:

– compilation, review and possibly audit level accounting work for business clients, including consolidations

-individual and business tax preparation, planning and compliance for clients with multi-state operations

– general business consulting

– GAAP and tax research

Small business software, including QuickBooks, knowledge is desired. Effective verbal and written communication, professional interaction with clients, ability to critically analyze, multi-task and work under deadlines are a must. Experience with construction clients and ProSystem Tax/Engagement software are a plus.

This is a full-time position with moderate overtime required during the busy season and flexible hours during the off season. No travel required. The firm offers excellent benefits and growth potential.
