The Straz Center is seeking candidates to join our marketing team who have a passion for advancing the arts and embraces the Straz Center’s mission and commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.

This position participates in and contributes to conceptual, creative and stylistic direction for major campaigns. Areas of work include ads, flyers, inserts, postcards, posters, banners, billboards, brochures, major publications, high-profile special event branding and print collateral design production for print media and web/digital delivery. Facilitates large-scale in-house printing and execution of 3-D projects for environmental/architectural and corporate needs. Maintains, monitors and advises on brand continuity.
Primary Responsibilities:

• Works with clientele to ascertain needs and to in turn develop graphic directions, concepts, and specifications.
• Conceptualizes, plans, designs, and produces a wide range of specialized graphic, illustrative material, original artwork (logos and photo-composites) to include multimedia concepts.
• Designs high-profile special event branding and print collateral design production for print media and web/digital delivery.
• Lead design on new and innovative event concepts.
• Oversees and coordinates the production process.
• Project Management for all phases of the project through to the point of delivery.
• Provides technical advice and guidance, and serves as liaison with production personnel, clients and vendors on design and technical graphics issues.
• Participates in production and/or marketing planning group sessions and meetings.
• Balances graphics work-flow with ability to multi-task and coordinate simultaneous projects in deadline-driven environment with quick response to shifting priorities.
• Delivers concepts and creative executions that are strategically sound.
• Interfaces with senior level staff in collaborative efforts.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Other Responsibilities:

• Attends online workshops and design conferences.
• Large-scale printing and site installation/removal.
• Project site evaluation/survey dimensions.
• Researches current design/environmental graphic trends and applications.
• Researches and seeks training in current digital graphics trends.
• Stays in compliance with all institutional workshop certifications.
• Addresses products/campus locations that can be utilized to expand impact of graphics.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

• Must be willing to be fully vaccinated by date of hire to be considered for employment.
• Must be willing and available to work on-site.
• Advanced experience with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Project management experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint and Teams is necessary.
• Motivated, organized, and resourceful individual.
• Creative self-starter who can successfully manage multiple projects and respect multiple deadlines and rapidly changing priorities on a tight schedule.
• Excellent spelling, grammar, and written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work nights and weekends, as needed.

Education and Work Experience:

• Degree in art/design or equivalent experience
• 5+ years’ experience as a Graphic Designer
