Accounting Manager

Overview

The Accounting Manager supports all functions of general accounting, accounts payable and payroll. Other duties include tasks such as forecasting, analysis, and budgeting for Boxley Materials Block and Slate line of business. This position will report directly to the Vice President – Finance.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Managing and overseeing the daily operations of accounting.
• Month and end year process
• Accounts Payable
• General Ledger
• Payroll
• Analyze financial performance and maintain forecast models for block and slate business
• Provide financial oversight on variances to budget and forecast.
• Communicate with direct management, finance personnel and/or other analysts in completing task assignments
• Create executive level presentation materials for use in strategic planning decisions
• Provide financial support for the monthly close processes.
• Provide value added information to be used with kicking off a newly adopted companywide procurement program.
• Maintain confidentiality of financial information, investment decisions, or any other tasks assigned by the organization.
• All other duties as assigned.

Skills & Experience

• Bachelor s Degree in Accounting or related field;
• 2 or more years of experience in a similar Financial or Accounting role.
• Experience in bookkeeping, accounting or finance preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all organization levels, including senior management.
• Ability to identify and investigate potential problems with respect to accounting and internal control issues.
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and with staff at remote locations essential.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial data.
• Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Willing to work in office, nonremote.
• Epicor, Hyperion Smartview, Viewpoint Construction Software a plus.
