Talascend is currently seeking a Sr Software Safety Engineer for a contract opportunity located in Clearwater, FL.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Use your advanced knowledge of the software engineering discipline, processes and tools to help deliver innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers.
• Be part of a group of highly committed professionals who provide expertise to ensure the success of complex engineering projects and programs.
• Plan and execute project subtasks (software development, software safety engineering to MIL-STD-882E, JSSSEH, NASA Software Safety Standard, RTCA DO-178C, ISO 26262, IEC 61508 Ed2 software failure modes and effects analysis, etc.).
• Identify opportunities and propose technical improvements by applying advanced software engineering knowledge and principles.
• Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Performs a variety of tasks.
• May lead and direct the work of others.
• Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• May require a bachelor’s degree in area of specialty and 4-6 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
• Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.
• A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
