One of our favorite clients in Tampa Bay is seeking an accounting professional for its newly created Director of Financial Reporting role, born out of continued corporate growth! This leader will be responsible for assisting with this privately held company’s financial reporting requirements.

Director of Financial Reporting Benefits and Compensation:

Director of Financial Reporting Job Duties:

• Provide financial reporting management and oversight to ensure that financial statements are accurate and complete
• Manage team members
• Estimate the impact of new accounting standards or other changes in accounting principles on the regional financial statements
• Monitor, evaluate and improve the monthly, quarterly and year-end close process
• Review current processes for improvement and automation opportunities to enhance financial reporting procedures
• Make decisions about which accounting methods should be used for recording transactions, and communicate these decisions internally
• Assist as needed with comprehensive annual budget planning
• Support team with key strategic initiatives
• Prepare presentations as necessary summarizing key findings of analyses and projects
• Lead a broad range of ad-hoc projects focused on improving reporting quality

Director of Financial Reporting Skills/Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• Active CPA
• 8+ years of accounting experience with preference for public accounting audit experience
• Accounting experience in industry preferred
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP accounting
• Experience with Sage Intacct a plus
• Strong leadership development skills and works well in a team environment
