Seeking qualified candidates for the following opportunity:

The Operations Manager has the responsibility to ensure the safe, efficient and effective operation of the manufacturing unit. The position is responsible for all aspects of manufacturing and production processes. This requires overall coordination of manufacturing production, maintenance, technologies, health and safety, quality assurance, coaching and development. Responsible for leading the manufacturing unit in its mission to meet or exceed all of our customer’s expectations while meeting process metrics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Drive manufacturing performance to meet schedules that allow for superior customer satisfaction and high plant efficiency.
• Ensure the department’s compliance to process Quality Systems to include AS9100, ISO 90001 and NADCAP.
• Champion process rigor and proper documentation in order to ensure long term success.
• Lead continuous improvement, corrective action and problem-solving activities. Create cross-functional teams to focus on reducing areas of waste and maximizing productivity.
• Establish process metrics and develop a system to achieve and maintain performance at targeted level.
• Staff, manage, coach, motivate, train, lead and assess the performance of Manufacturing Operations employees, both exempt and nonexempt. Staffing levels range from 50-100 (exempt and nonexempt) based on business demand.
• Staff, manage, coach, motivate, train, lead, and assess performance of staff.
• Become the Champion of Zero Safety Incidents and instill a safety mindset.
• Support business and technical aspects of capital project improvements.
• Foster teamwork with subordinates, peers and superiors both internally and externally.
• Lead customer communications.
• Set long term strategy while maintaining or improving day to day operational metrics. Participates in or leads efforts to improve via expansion, staffing, or capital projects to achieve new performance beyond currently possible levels.
• Comply with policies, regulations and our values for safety, quality, environmental and financial stewardship.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Engineering degree required.
• Strong leadership skills, technical competence, continuous improvement mentality and training.
• 10+ years demonstrated leadership experience in a manufacturing environment; aerospace preferred.
• Financial management skills; capital project experience & fixed cost control.
• Strong communications skills both verbal and written. Ability to present/communicate to persons at all levels of the organization.
• Experience with Operational Excellence programs and Continuous Improvement in leadership and contributing roles.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, problem solving and organizational skills; including the ability to interface with internal & external customer contacts.
• Must possess a high level of initiative, and independent decision-making ability.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, direct and manage cross functional teams in a fast paced, results oriented environment.
• Strong planning/organization skills to meet agreed upon volumes, quality and rates.
