Job Description

This position will be responsible for creating and maintaining web content across multiple websites and marketplaces. The position is the key to future growth. Our Web Content Copywriter creates engaging content that is disseminated across various sales channels. The ideal candidate must possess a keen understanding of customer demographics and needs as well as continue building our brand’s personality and tone; helpful, relatable, friendly, hardworking, hands-on and experienced. Responsibilities

Here are some examples of the actual work your day would include.

Product Content / SEO

• Add/Optimize product and web content including descriptions, videos, manuals, brochures, etc all while following SEO best practices across all company websites ensuring thorough descriptions, accuracy, brand voice and readability
• Conduct high quality research and interviews to develop compelling information and generate fact-based insights
• Interpret creative direction and adapt points from creative briefs into persuasive copy concepts
• Collaborate with diverse teams such as purchasing, marketing and vendors to obtain product details
• Evaluate and improve existing content to elevate the customer experience
• Coordinate with marketing team lead and third-party SEO team to improve site speed, conversion rates and applications of keywords
• Audit websites and update content for search engines including internal link errors, broken backlinks, setting canonical links and correcting 301 and 404 errors
• Manage and utilize third-party copywriters to expedite content creation as necessary

Search/Category Maintenance

• Maintain/update product categories and filters to improve the customer experience as well as SEO.
• Enhance site search by analyzing keywords and phrase reports weekly
• Create/update category and display banners site wide

Skill Set

To be successful in this role, you need to have a certain amount of knowledge and skills:

• Resourcefulness with the ability to deal with ambiguity and communicate with multiple departments for product consistency
• Ability to learn quickly and retain a large amount of information from multiple resources
• Excellent research skills to pull information from several sources to learn and understand products
• Familiarity of content management systems (CMS) and basic HTML programming to make tables, charts, headers, paragraphs, insert optimized images and bulleted lists
• Must be proficient in using MS Office, Excel, Teams, and Adobe Acrobat
• Basic understanding of SEO best practices
• Strong typing, grammar, spelling and copywriting and editorial skills
• Knowledge of Google Analytics, conversion tracking, and bounce-rates is a plus but not required
• Aptitude to spot trends in data, being analytical, creative thinking and to figure out how complex systems work
• Ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Ability to be flexible and adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
• An organized individual with strong time management skills with great attention to detail focusing on quality and precision
• Self-motivated individual with strong initiative and work ethic that requires little supervision; a good team player
• Ability to operate independently given direction and bring ideas for web layouts
• Takes accountability and ownership of his/her own work

This position requires manual dexterity for typing, sitting at a desk and looking at a computer screen for long periods of time. In addition, portions of the position may require job shadowing and training which includes physical activity of lifting 25-35 pounds and standing for long periods of time.

We need a Web Content Copywriter that has a positive attitude and the words “can’t” and “impossible” are not a part of your vocabulary. This person should continually add value to the organization beyond their day-to-day tasks.

Availability

You must be available to work between the hours of 7:30am and 6pm Monday – Friday with the occasional evening or Saturday for projects that must be done outside of normal business hours.
