Job Description
Our Accounting and Tax firm is looking for an Accountant and Tax Preparer Professional to join our team! You will be responsible for preparing, completing accounting records for our clients and enter tax data into tax software and knowledge and up to date with tax laws and changes or able to research tax laws. You will have to get a PTIN number once hired, and will be your responsibility. You will also be required to take 18 hours of tax education per year, paid by employer. Job Responsibilities:
- Download transactions from banks, credit cards, loans, etc.
- Enter data into QB desktop and QB online reconcile all accounts (training is provided)
- Process payroll weekly for two clients
- Quarterly Payroll Returns, Annual Payroll Returns, W-2s, 1099s filings
- Update or create checklist for clients so we all know what has been completed
- Tax preparer
Qualifications:
- 2 Years minimum previous experience or education in accounting, bookkeeping, and Quick books is a plus
- Fundamental knowledge of GAAP is a plus
- Experience with current computer accounting programs and reporting tools
- Detail and deadline-oriented
- Must know excel, and word (mail merging is a plus)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to learn new tax software
- Excellent with numbers
- Admin & Marketing is required, after accounting is all finished for the month
Rate of Pay:
$18 to $23 per hour to start, possible raises with reviews.
Benefits when permanent:
40 hrs. of sick time earned. Vacation 40 hours per year until you have been employed at least 4 years. After 4 years, then you receive 80 hrs. per year. Review is completed after 3 months’ probation and then yearly. After 5 years then there will be an opportunity for simple SEP or IRA.
