Automation Controls Engineer

JOB PURPOSE :

The Controls Engineer will develop and lead the integration and installation of custom automation cells used for real-time measuring and inspecting manufactured products. The job focuses on integration solutions and support functions for advancing and implementing new automation technologies. The role demands a high level of hands-on engineering background in advance automation and technology with exceptional creativity and communication skills. This role will be at the forefront of developing and implementing new automation technologies and a core member of a newly formed automation group.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

• Drive continuous improvement in key automation processes
• Leverage lean principles to drive the design and execution of processes and equipment layout to improve overall equipment effectiveness
• Build organizational competency in automation, and ensure step-level changes towards delivering overall business strategy

ADDITIONAL responsibilities

• Develop strong relationships with key strategic customers across all business units.
• Needs to have the ability to deal with multiple priorities while working on simultaneous projects.
• Manage working with the different teams in various departments simultaneously.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 4 + years’ practical experience working with automation hardware, software and robotic systems
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering-Automation, Process Control, Mechanical or Computer Science

Experience with:

• PLC, HMI and Robot Integration – such as Allen Bradley, Siemens, etc
• Knowledge of Lasers and Vision Systems
• Knowledge of Servos

• Ability to design, develop, build and deliver custom automation solutions
• Able to interact effectively across all teams to get necessary information and support to complete projects
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
• Strong time management, organization, and prioritizing skills

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

As this role is part of a newly formed group, the work may alter as business requirements change:

• 20% travel domestic (international is possible, but not likely)
• Occasional weekend and evening work, as needed
• Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
