Position Summary

The Import & Logistics Coordinator will arrange and manage global and domestic inbound shipments from start to finish. This position requires direct contact with our suppliers and internal customers to ensure a high level of performance in the movement of goods through the supply chain. The Import & Logistics Coordinator will support the Supply Chain department with freight management functions involving international and domestic transportation be it air, land, or sea.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the routing of import and domestic inbound shipments with airlines, ocean carriers, rail carriers, truckers, and freight forwarders
• Prepare quotes in a timely manner for internal customers
• Conduct day-to-day trade activities to ensure international shipments are in compliance including shipping documentation, Harmonized System Code (HS) classification, valuation and Incoterms
• Prepare import document presentations for brokers
• Generate inventory costing paperwork and accurately enter costing charges into accounting system
• Prepare all necessary shipping documentation related to foreign-to-foreign shipments
• Track and trace shipments and provide timely status updates to ERP system
• Research and resolve any issues regarding shipment delays, billing errors, and shipping discrepancies
• Provide guidance to internal customers concerning the requirements and obligations of cross-border movement of goods
• Support the product classification process to ensure accurate HTS assignment
• Collaborate and build relationships with transportation vendors to strengthen partnerships
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management
• Adhere to established policies and procedures

Requirements

• Ideal candidate will possess at least 3 years’ experience in managing international freight
• Experience working with freight forwarders and regulatory requirements required
• Experience working with domestic trucking and small pack freight preferred
• Ability to negotiate rates in effort to route freight in the most cost-effective manner
• High degree of keying accuracy and the ability to proofread required
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills required · Ideal candidate will be self-motivated, assertive, responsive, able to prioritize, and organized
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Programs required with an emphasis on Excel, Teams, and SharePoint
• Solid experience utilizing and navigating an ERP system, ideally Dynamics AX
