Director of Hospice Clinical Services
Qualifications:
– Registered Nurse Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university desired.
– Possesses symptom management expertise in end-of-life care.
– A minimum of 5 years full time experience in health care administration with hospice care experience. Supervisory experience required.
– Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, good listening skills.
– Excellent computer skills. Able to multi-task with ease.
– Must learn or possess thorough knowledge of the NYS and Federal regulations, and JCAHO standards that pertain to the provision of hospice care.
– Demonstrated track record of effective leadership skills. Able to work under pressure and address work-flow issues.
– Strong supervisory skills, not afraid to provide coaching and supervision to staff.
Responsibilities
– Responsible for the delivery and quality of care to hospice patients and families.
– Executes strategic plan for clinical services.
– Implements systematic improvements to ensure standards of care are maintained.
– Maintains 24-hour administrative oversight of the provision of care to hospice patients by supervising administrator on call team.
– Provides supervision, oversight and evaluation of the clinical leadership staff, contract employees and counseling staff.
– Supervises and collaborates with nursing supervisors to recruit, hire, train, and provide oversight and supervision of staff.
– Coordinates and participates in staff in-services with the quality assurance department.
– Oversees, coordinates, and participates in QAPI program; assuring the on-going improvement and safety of all care provided.
– Ensures compliance with NYS and Federal regulations and Joint Commission standards.
– Facilitates communication and works effectively with all UH staff, residents, families, caregivers, physicians, vendors and other agency staff and professionals.
– Participates and guides IDT meetings, follow up and coaching for staff.
– Develops needed policies to ensure operational goals are executed successfully.
– Participates in community education and outreach
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $130,000.00 – $150,000.00 per year
