In the ever-expanding city of Los Angeles, Trojans need reliable and convenient transportation options. USC Transportation has risen to meet that need, operating parking structures, busses, student-run Campus Cruisers and a fuel station. To meet the unique needs of each Trojan, Transportation also coordinates with numerous taxi companies and rental car agencies to provide a vast source of transit options. A division of USC Auxiliary Services, Transportation is always looking for new ways to make USC safer and more convenient for students, athletes, faculty, staff, and visitors.

We are seeking a Transportation Demand Management Coordinator (3-Month Fixed-Term) to join our rapidly growing team.

The Opportunity:

The Transportation Demand Management Coordinator will plan and implement the university’s Commuter Pass Program, coordinating and overseeing day-to-day activities. You will be researching, developing, and promoting new or improved alternative commuter incentives and programs at the University Park and Health Sciences campuses. You will also serve as a resource for the entire university community while acting as a liaison between commuters, external organizations and government agencies. With your friendly, warm demeanor, you will continue providing the excellence in service that our students, faculty, staff, and guests have come to expect from our Transportation team.

The Accountabilities:

• Provide a professional service such as counseling, testing and evaluation, teaching or event planning in support of a university program.

• Assist program management with administrative functions covering planning, budgeting, proposal development, and marketing of program services.

• Test and evaluate the effectiveness of existing program content and services. Recommend and implement modifications as necessary to ensure achievement of program goals and objectives.

• Research and identify client or beneficiary needs and recommend program modifications or creation of new programs and services. Assist in the design and delivery of programs, services and special events.

• Provide leadership, guidance and supervision to staff, student workers, volunteers, and/or graduate assistants. Lead others in the planning and delivery of services, activities and special events.

• Develop and conducts program-focused training and assess proficiency or readiness of trainees.

• Interface with faculty, researchers and staff for committee work or information exchange regarding program services or content.

• Research the market and develop marketing strategies to promote program. Create information materials and plans activities and events to support marketing strategies.

• Participate in the development and implementation of program policies and procedures.

• Provide historical data and projections for use in developing program budgets.

• Stay informed of developments in field. Read pertinent literature, attend meetings and participate in professional associations as appropriate. Establish and maintain an active network of professional contacts.

• Coordinates program services with other offices and staff on campus. Serve as a resource for program information.

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, internal and external customers. Assist sales personnel. Answer phones, e-mails, works special events, and performs various duties unrelated to position as required by management.

• Drive Commuter Pass Program’s success through creative marketing, presentations, and meetings with university groups and affiliates. Meet needs, offer options, resolve problems, follow-up with customers relation to information on mass transit.

• Responsible for planning and coordinating employee commuter surveys in compliance with Southern California Air Quality management District requirements. Ensure commuter participant information is recorded and databases are kept current.

• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. The University reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.

The Qualifiers:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree, Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education

• Experience: 2 years

• Expertise: Directly related professional experience i.e. transportation program specialization, counseling, or teaching

• Experience: 3 years

Additional Information:

• 3-Month Fixed Term Position

• No set schedule. May be required to work weekends, evenings and/or holidays.
