Job Summary:

The primary purpose of the Manager: Transportation position is to oversee the transportation and customs for Vail Resorts Retail and Rental. This position will oversee transportation operations as the coordinating point of contact between the operations teams and our courier partners. As the main point of contact for our courier partners, this individual will coordinate deliveries (either recurring or on-demand), handle invoice payments submitted by our couriers as well as be able to speak to the financials posted on the monthly P&L. This position works closely with many cross functional teams, including but not limited to all warehouses, merchants, store operations, accounts payable, and external vendors.

Job Responsibilities:

• 
  Transportation
  • Strategy/Innovation for all Transportation related to DC Operations (Vendor Inbound/DC Outbound/TMS)
  • Identify and develop Transportation cost savings initiatives throughout the DC Enterprise
  • Facilitate meeting monthly with our courier partners to ensure they are meeting delivery and TMS system expectations by producing and socializing metrics around compliance.
  • Maintaining relationship with all freight partners – Small Package, LTL
  • RFQ for parcel business as needed.
  • Coordination of Rental off-season movement & storage
  • Point of contact as relates to all Transportation needs with our DCs, vendor community and Store Operations
  • Freight Billing/Pay to ensure on time payment and no service disruption
  • Produce and socialize metrics around Transportation
• 
  Customs
  • Implement a complete end to end process for the Vail Resorts Retail Supply Chain operations to ensure compliance for international trade. Manage customs broker relationship
  • Customs Billing/Pay to ensure on time payment and no service disruption (Expeditors/CBSA)
  • Assist with any internal cross-border moves between US & Canada
  • Apply knowledge of laws and regulations, provide guidance to departments (such as, clinical, sales, marketing, legal, etc.) seeking to move product between countries

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 5 years transportation, office/retail/rental and/or distribution center experience.
• 5+ years leadership experience
• Expert level Excel
• Fluent in oral and written English
• Self-starter who is resourceful and takes the initiative
• Ability to build strong relationships cross functionally
• Strong problem solving skills with attention to detail; highly organized
• Strong analytical and presentation skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills a must.
• Ability to manage and prioritize a high volume workload and must be comfortable in an ever changing environment with competing priorities.
• Experience with MMS/Inventory Control
• Ability to work remotely while executing a high degree of self-management.

The budgeted range starts at $74,100 – $96,465 + annual bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
