The Strategy, Digital and Innovation (SDI) team forges the strategic direction of Wells Fargo, provides and manages our digital foundation and common capabilities, and transforms our business models to meet evolving customer needs and grow the company. The investments we are making will help the company create innovative digital banking experiences, and make it easier for customers to achieve their financial goals.
Within SDI, the Commercial Banking Digital team leads the execution and delivery that enables us to design and manage great digital customer experiences for our customers. We manage several digital channels, including the award winning Commercial Electronic Office (CEO) portal, which provides services for primarily Commercial Banking customers in deposit and lending account management, payments, investments and risk management. Our channels encompass many applications behind secure authentication.
In an Agile environment the Project Manager supports the team and ensures compliance with Enterprise Project Management Office requirements, and manages external dependencies. Managing multiple projects of the highest complexity that span multiple teams, the PM maintains a holistic understanding of the work being done, and is vital in helping connect the dots between the teams while enabling the team(s) to focus on high-quality delivery by mitigating impediments that can derail the productivity.
Within the Commercial Banking Digital team, a key role will be of a Project Manager with the following major responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and experience for Commercial Banking digital initiatives
- Lead the execution of the most complex plans, programs and initiatives which have significant Enterprise-wide impact. These initiatives may focus on: content strategy/creation, customer experience, and analytics/research or product management.
Within the framework of the above major responsibilities, the role entails the following more specific responsibilities:
- Accountable for direct and independent management of primarily high risk/strategic projects (occasionally moderate risk) and/or participates as a member of larger effort(s) to independently manage sub-program component(s) of high complexity under the purview of a program/project leader.
- Successfully informs and influences sponsors and key stakeholders to promote success of project prioritization, senior and executive leadership through times of ambiguity, and obstacle management.
- Seeks counsel of peers, stakeholders, and/or program/project leads in times of strategically complex or critical ambiguity and adapts planning, communications, and engagements accordingly.
- Incorporates multi-business and enterprise support operations organizational/ systems knowledge and navigation to anticipate change impacts.
- Ensures full understanding of project impacts then translates that into comprehensive engagement strategies.
- Performs all usual duties of a Project Manager in accordance with policy, methodology and artifact creation. This includes needs identification; resource requirements; project dependencies, planning and progression; financials management; status reporting; prolific and effective communications; ongoing risk assessment and adaptation; and appropriate escalation strategies and implementation.
- Incorporates regular and appropriate consultation with executive leadership, sponsors, business and other stakeholders to validate project trajectory and project performance feedback.
- Ensures that Risk Controls are met.
- Provides performance feedback to managers of project team members.
- Regularly coaches other project managers or project coordinators, including matrix management.
- May at times be assigned as a program leader.

Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: project management, project delivery, project methodologies, digital product/program management, strategic planning or implementation
- 8+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: administrative support management, project management, business operations or strategic planning in financial services
Desired Qualifications
- Commercial banking experience
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- 4+ years of Agile experience
- Knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
- JIRA experience
Other Desired Qualifications
- Ability to manage large complex cross-matrix organization that includes: multiple business, technology and risk disciplines with direct leadership; the development of the strategy for information security; and implementation of roadmaps for the Enterprise
- Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate to build successful relationships
- Experience leading effective collaboration across a team of project managers focusing on different functional areas for the same project
- Ability to present to multiple levels of management
- Ability to facilitate and lead meetings to reach conclusions, identify tasks, record actions, and achieve results
- Experience with Digital Platforms and Product or Customer interaction platforms highly desired
Job Expectations
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
Salary Information
The salary range displayed below is based on a Full-time 40 hour a week schedule.
CA-SF-Financial District: Min: $109,200 Mid: $156,000
AZ-Tempe: Min: $91,000 Mid: $130,000
NC-Charlotte: Min: $91,000 Mid: $130,000
